چکیده

Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) which is caused by small ruminant morbillivirus (PPRV) has an important economic impact on farming due to high mortality rates, weight loss and restrictions the export of products. Molecular assays are commonly used in diagnosis disease. Extraction RNA from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues challenging because often degraded formalin fixation process. Although commercial kits have been developed for extraction nucleic acids FFPE tissues, they expensive than other kits. In this study, a modified method was evaluated detection PPRV tissues. A total 20 tissue samples including 15 positive 5 negative were used. Two years ago, these selected analysed nucleoprotein gene based one step real time RT-PCR before fixed with embedded paraffin. extracted using tested fusion (F) RT-PCR. specific detected 12 whereas 3 found one-step Furthermore, also negative. Three false results real-time cycle threshold. Therefore, could be related lower viral loads might limit The study show that had stored 2 years.

Peste des petits ruminants

Peste des petits ruminants virus causes a highly infectious disease of small ruminants that is endemic across Africa, the Middle East and large regions of Asia. The virus is considered to be a major obstacle to the development of sustainable agriculture across the developing world and has recently been targeted by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the Food and Agriculture Organ...

No (H7N9) virus HA antibodies were detected from paired serum samples from all 18 close contacts. Two virus strains were isolated: 1 from a patient specimen (A/Zhenjiang/1/2013) and 1 from a chicken cage specimen (A/environmen...

Genetic analysis of peste des petits ruminants virus from Pakistan

BACKGROUND Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is an endemic and highly contagious disease in small ruminants of Pakistan. Despite the fact that an effective vaccine is available, outbreaks are regularly occurring in the country. Thus so far, the diagnosis has primarily been made based on clinical outcome or serology. This study was carried out to characterize PPRV from an emerging wave of outbrea...

Molecular Evolution of Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus

Despite safe and efficacious vaccines against peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV), this virus has emerged as the cause of a highly contagious disease with serious economic consequences for small ruminant agriculture across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. We used complete and partial genome sequences of all 4 lineages of the virus to investigate evolutionary and epidemiologic dynamics of ...
